PEITGEN, HEINZ-OTTO

MeVis - Center for Medical Diagnostic Systems and Visualization at the University of Bremen, Bremen, Germany.

Director of the Center for Complex Systems and Visualization (CeVis) at the University of Bremen since 1992 and, since 1991, he has been also professor for mathematics and biomedical sciences at the Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, USA.

He is the author of numerous awardwinning books and films which have contributed to make Fractal Geometry public all over the world apart from Mandelbrot's work.

His scientific expertise is in dynamical systems, numerical and nonlinear functional anlysis, computer graphics, scientific visualization, image and data analysis and processing and computer-aided radiology.

Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Karl-Heinz-Beckhurst Prize in 1999.
